Atkent provides a copy-editing service to clients.
Definition: Copy editing means preparing text from a word-processed printed document (or its equivalent in computer file form) prior to typesetting or some form of desktop publishing, with the aim of ensuring the text is clear, concise and saying what the author means it to say. The copy editor's job is to ensure that the author's ideas and language come through to the reader as clearly and easily as
possible. A copy editor has to ensure that...- any grammatical errors are spotted and corrected;
- the structure of the whole piece makes it easy for the reader to follow;
- the content is complete and consistent;
- a typesetter knows how to set the final copy for publication;
- a query is raised with the author or publisher where a point arises where insufficient information is available to resolve all of the foregoing.
